Museo Storico Baita Monte Baldo – Lugagnano

At the social club of veterans Alpines group in Lugagnano (via Caduti del Lavoro, 4 – 37060 – Lugagnano), since 2011 is formed the historical Museum “Baita Monte Baldo”; the main aspect we’re looking to bring life is our land, with its knowledge and civil values being passed down through generations, which are the roots of the National Alpine Association (Associazione Nazionale Alpini – A.N.A.).

The museum has been divided into two main branches: rural and farming culture, and war time periods. The branches include 4 sections:

  • Farming traditions: at the start of exhibition, you’ll enter into homes and working lives of the farming world from 1800 and 1900. After passing through the area dedicated to the Old Parish church of the village, you’ll find the “Home” displays.
  • Military history: the military zone shows recuperated findings, as personal equipments, tools used on the trenches and weaponry from the First World War. Then there’s an area about the II Wolrd War, with tools from Italy and all the countries where the Royal Italian Army was involved: Greece, Albania, Africa and Russia.
  • Radio: the most internal part of the exhibition is dedicated to transmitting Radio and stations military; dating the II World War to present days, all radios are fully and perfectly restored.
  • The Gigi’s postcards: with great thanks to the care and dedication of alpine Luigi Sala that he gave the personal collection of worthy cards over his alpine years, it displays a rare and beautiful collection of military postcards and documents. Dating from 1911 to 1945, we can see the historical life of Alpine Battalions.
