Museum Nicolis

Cars and motorcycles, bicycles, means of transport, but also musical instruments, cameras and typewriters, small aircrafts, travel accessories and vintage jewelries. The amazing collections of the Museum Nicolis of Villafranca – today one of the most important private museums in Italy and Europe – are the evidence of a heritage that has been preserved, protected, enhanced and handed down, in the most current and exciting interpretation of “heritage”, that is, the cultural heritage and the values they tell – even through objects – the story of the people, activities, relationships, meeting places; in summary, the society that the generations of the past have created for those ones of the future.

The “MUSEO NICOLIS DELL’AUTO, DELLA TECNICA e DELLA MECCANICA” in Villafranca, just outside Verona and a few km from the Lake Garda, is one of the most important private museums in Italy and Europe. Open to multiple forms of innovation and experimentation, it is lively promoter of culture and a point of attraction for the whole territory. Managed with managerial criteria, it is recognized as an example of an effective and modern museum-enterprise, that is of “unconventional” cultural institution that promotes knowledge and innovation without losing its aims of growth and development. And of Museimpresa, the Italian Association of Company Archives and Museums, founded in 2001 by Assolombarda and Confindustria, the Museum Nicolis was one of the first associates and is, today, the vice President and a Member of the Executive Council.

7 Collections and hundreds of unique pieces.

Created by Luciano Nicolis, entrepreneur and collector of Verona, which brought in this modern structure (6000 square meters) his passion for mechanics and for the recovery in all its forms, the “Museum Nicolis of Cars, Technology and Mechanics” has been opened to the public since its opening in 2000, and is one of the major centers of attraction of the entire territory of Verona: it can offer to Italian and foreign visitors (tens of thousands each year) a formidable mix of culture, fun, surprises and innovation.

The “numbers” of the 7 collections are emblematic: 200 cars, 120 bicycles, 105 motorcycles, 500 cameras, 120 musical instruments, 100 typewriters, small aircrafts, and hundreds of brilliant works are shown according to historical and stylistic paths; alongside the exhibition , you will find the conference center, the historical archive, the library, a bookshop well-stocked on the world of motors, and, recently, the new Vintage Area where you can find travel accessories and gorgeous vintage bijoux, i.e. news to which the public has shown their appreciation and that has greatly expanded and enriched the cultural offer and the attractions of the Museum Nicolis.
