At about 300 meters far from the center of Valeggio sul Mincio, there is the entrance of the Parco Giardino Sigurtà, a spectacular green oasis that stretches for 600,000 square meters, on the hills around the village.
Founded in 1417, it was the “orchard” of the adjacent Villa Maffei.
It was purchased by Dr. Carlo Sigurtà in 1941 and, after long years of passionate work, it was turned into one of the most beautiful botanical garden of Europe.
Many views, landscapes and natural settings can be seen by visiting the Park: the first spring bloom of one million tulips and that of the classic roses, from the blooming of water-lilies to the wonderful colors of the autumn foliage.
For your children, the farm is worthy of a visit: an area dedicated to recreational-educational activities for schools and families, where children can encounter donkeys, chickens, ducks, goats, and discover the secrets of the ancient art of the farmer.
Many events and initiatives take place at the Parco Giardino Sigurtà throughout the year, to provide its guests with unforgettable days.
To know them all and to discover other wonders, visit the website of the Parco Giardino Sigurtà.
In 2013, the Sigurtà Garden was awarded “The most beautiful garden of Italy“.
