The cycle path between the Lake Garda and Mantova crosses the whole Mincio Park.
It is about 43 km long and is signposted, so that you can easily find your way around.
The route – tree-lined for a few kilometers – runs along a quite plain area.
Start from the fortress in Peschiera del Garda and turn left into via secolo. Cross the bridge upon the river Mincio and cycle along the towpath lined with tall poplars until you reach Ponti sul Mincio.
The cycle path runs left to the town centre and crosses a couple of hamlets (Fossa Rendone and Monticelli), towards Monzambano, where you can stop and visit the XII century castle . At the crossroad follow the street sign for Valeggio and take the towpath along Canale Virgilio, parallel to the river Mincio.
Cross the mill-dam Tre Molini and you will reach Valeggio sul Mincio, one of the most interesting sites of the whole cycle path. In Valeggio you can visit the Scaligero Castle, built in the XVII centuryand the magnificent Sigurtà park.
The cycle path reaches Ponte Visconteo and the romantic hamlet Borghetto and its watermills.
A fitness trail runs under the fortress of the Visconteo Bridge, with twelve different workstations that allow you to experience a complete athletic training.
The cycle path passes through Pozzolo, Falzoni, Torre and Goito. When you reach Maglio you can follow the sign to Parco delle Bertone. The path follows the river Mincio and reaches Soave. At the crossroad you can follow the sign to Bosco Fontana, one of the most interesting natural reserves in the region of Mantova.
The last part of the cycle path follows a trail along canal Parcorello and leads to Cittadella. Cross the Ponte dei Mulini and you will reach Mantova, lovely town surrounded by cycle paths along its lakes.
