The church is dedicated to the Saints Peter and Paul, the patrons of Villafranca, and is located in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, near the site of the old church.
It was consecrated in 1882 and is, after the Scaliger Castle, the most important monument of the town.
The building is almost identical to the Church of the Redeemer in Venice.
On the facade, there are low-reliefs representing the episode of Zaffira and Ananias, St. Peter and St. John healing a paralytic, and the statues of St. Peter and St. Paul.
Furthermore, you can admire the statues of Charity, Faith and Hope, which were commissioned at the beginning of the Austrian domination.
In the inside, there are valuable paintings by Felice and Domenico Brusasorzi, of Brentana (1727), Coppa (1505-1665), a Nativity of the seventeenth century and two marble statues of the Saints Peter and Paul of the sixteenth century.
In 1945 the crypt was built in memory of the fallen of World War II, a work commissioned by Don Eliseo Contri.
